Our Team

Wesley Christian School has been serving Orangeburg for over 40 years. Currently, we are hosted by First Southern Methodist Church on Broughton St.  We were founded to meet the educational and spiritual needs of parents and their children and we still exist to do that very thing today.  The founders wanted to express that purpose through the name of the school, “Wesley”.  Our school was named for three Wesleys’.  Jonathan, because of his strong spiritual character which he used for the Lord of his life.  Charles, because he was gifted by God creatively and we want to draw out that creativity in our students.  Susanna, because she was a dedicated educator of her children as our faculty also is to your children. Throughout these 40 years, God has used this ministry to train young people to serve the Lord and enabled us to come along side our parents, to work with them to educate and develop their most treasured possession: their child.  We look forward to many more years of ministering to you.

What To Expect

Wesley Christian School provides a personalized education with a focus on Christian principles. Your child will receive a general studies curriculum, from a faith based perspective. We can provide your child with learning they can carry with them throughout their lives. We focus on alternative education which supersedes our competition. We encourage your child to thrive and socialize in a Christian setting. They’ll have an opportunity to socialize with other kids their age and participate in structurally sound, moral activities. If your child doesn’t come from a Christian background, Christian school is a great place for them to get some background on faith based studies. Our students perform higher than students in traditional public schools. We are able to focus on smaller classes that give your children a unique educational setting. There are many activities available within our curriculum. Our students and their families are a part of our family. We work closely with our parents to keep them completely informed of their child’s progress. Your child will always have a line of open communication to discuss their concerns or get answers to their questions.

Who We Are

The goals of this school are not to reform, but to train Christian youth in every ability to the highest principles of:

• Christian Leadership
• Good Citizenship
• Individual Responsibility
• Personal Integrity
• Self-discipline

Wesley Christian School stands without apology for the old-time Gospel and the highest standards of morality and Christian behavior.

The objective in having a private Christian school is to obey the Scriptural command of Deuteronomy 6:5-7a:

“And thou shalt love the Lord the God with all thine heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words,
which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children…

It is our purpose and intent to, “train up a child in the way he should go…” (Proverbs 22:6)

Teaching is training. Training for life must include training for eternity!

Students, it is our desire that you will grow spiritually, academically, socially, and physically while you are under our care. You are beginning an exciting adventure which can influence the rest of your life.

Implicit in Christian education are these
basic truths:

• Man does possess a spiritual dimension (Genesis 1:27)
• Education involves the total being spiritually, intellectually, physically, and socially. (Proverbs 9:9)
•Each person possesses unique, individual potential, traits, and needs (Romans 12:3-8)

The educational experience must involve the development of Christian beliefs, attitudes, and skills leading toward zealous application.
